Our Story
More than a connection to the ocean.
Long before Beyond the Rip had a name, the ocean was already part of our family’s story.
For Gregg, that connection began as a child, with years spent around the water. For Jess, it became deeply personal through an experience that showed us how quickly conditions in the ocean can change.
Over the years, Gregg’s work as a firefighter and journeyman lineman continued to shape the way we viewed service. Whether responding to emergencies or helping communities recover after severe storms, he saw first-hand what can happen when ordinary people step forward to help.
What began as a shared idea between a husband and wife has grown into a mission centered on lifeguard support, beach safety, awareness, education, and stronger coastal communities.
This is our way of giving back to the people who protect others. We are inviting families, businesses, volunteers, and supporters to become part of something bigger.
