Our First Ripple

Mission 001

Costa Ballena, Costa Rica

Supporting lifeguards with lifesaving equipment, rescue resources, training support, and stronger beach-safety infrastructure.

The right equipment can change a response.

Costa Ballena includes long stretches of coastline where lifeguards may need to move quickly across sand, reach remote areas, transport medical supplies, or respond to emergencies beyond the shoreline.

Mission 001 is designed to support the lifeguards already doing the work. Beyond the Rip is not replacing local leadership—we are working alongside established people and organizations to help strengthen what already exists.

02

Rescue Watercraft

A rescue watercraft can improve response time during open-water emergencies and help teams reach people beyond the break more efficiently.

03

Supporting Gear

Why It Matters

When someone is in trouble, distance matters.

Costa Ballena stretches far beyond a single guarded point. Reaching an emergency can mean crossing sand, rocks, and remote sections of coastline while carrying the equipment needed to help.

The right equipment doesn’t replace the lifeguard.

It gets the lifeguard to the person who needs them.
01

Get There Faster

ATV access can help lifeguards move across difficult stretches of coastline while carrying rescue and medical equipment.

02

Reach Farther

A rescue watercraft can help teams reach open-water emergencies beyond the shoreline when every second matters.

03

Bring Help With Them

Rescue boards, first-aid supplies, radios, and other equipment can travel with the lifeguard instead of being left behind.
